Tran Minh Duc (Sebastian) - Keele University

With the charter scholarship, I came to Keele at the end of September, 2006. My first impression about Keele was the huge campus, with wonderful landscape, which I just saw in movies and photos before.

This is the first time I am away from home, from my country. Therefore, at the first time living here, I felt homesick, isolated, like anybody. However, people here are quite friendly and easygoing. This is very important because it did help me to settle down and get involved with the new society. As the early difficulties were over, now everything seems to go on well with me.

Studying here is also the chance for me to have many good friends who come from around the world. It makes me more confident and sociable, which I had not been before.

Studying and living on my own, here, at Keele, brings me experiences and maturity!
